Only about 40 miles from Atlanta, Lake Allatoona covers approximately 12,000 acres in northwest Georgia, with 270 miles of shoreline in Cherokee, Bartow, and Cobb counties. It is only 45 minutes away from Atlanta, Georgia. It is one of the most popular lakes in the nation, getting around 7 million visitors annually.

Lake Allatoona is welcoming of all watersports, including wakeboarding, skiing, tubing, and more. The eight full-service marinas around the lake provide gas refill stations for gas boats. There are also 26 launch points around the lake for boats. Other forms of boating, including kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and others, are also popular pastimes on Lake Allatoona.

Guests at Lake Allatoona also love to fish while there. Here you’ll be able to find several species of bass, as well as catfish, crappie, bream, and carp. Anglers can fish from shore or out on the boat. Lake Allatoona is also the site of numerous fishing tournaments throughout the year.
